Job Description Facilities Operations Manager Summary: The Facilities Operations Manager oversees the upkeep, repair and efficiency of all residences and buildings, including, but not limited to: offices, residential housing facilities, schools, grounds, and machinery.

The position manages and supervises all maintenance workers to ensure proper functioning of VPI facility operations, and ensures that staff are coached, supervised, trained and mentored in all aspects of their professional responsibilities.

The position requires a hands-on Facilities Operations Manger that can seamlessly transition from direct facility maintenance to staff supervision, and communication to leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and build a wide preventative maintenance program designed to keep all equipment in good working order.

• Conduct walk-throughs as needed to identify areas of concern and those needing attention.

• Manage and coordinate compliance with local, state and federal building codes, SDS, OSHA, EPA regulations, and fire codes.

• Manage and coordinate the completion of Maintenance Requests in Extended Reach • Provide supervision and feedback to the Maintenance workers • Ensure the outside of all properties is maintained, and direct landscaping, snow removal, and garbage/trash removal by staff and/or contractors as appropriate.

• Maintain inventory control for all general supplies, parts and equipment for necessary repairs and maintenance.

• Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions which assists others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.

• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
