Position Summary:
As the Charge RN, you will provide vital nursing leadership in the Emergency Room during the day shift.
Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during your shift.
Assess staffing levels and assignments based on availability, skillset, patient census, acuity, and overall workflow.
Deliver direct patient care as needed.
Assist staff with problem-solving and float between areas as needed.
May take patient assignments to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify areas for improvement.
Address and manage patient care complaints through established channels.
Perform role-specific duties such as entering orders, conducting admissions and discharges, and coordinating patient transfers.
Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for safe, quality patient care.
Incorporate evidence-based practices into daily operations and clinical protocols, fostering an environment of professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree required
BSN degree preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
ACLS and PALS certifications required within 6 months of hire
License:
Registered Nurse license to practice in Kentucky
Certification in a specialty area preferred
