The Opportunity Are you driven to delight customersCan you stay calm and collected in a high stress situation Are you experienced in working in a team environment while also being accountable for your own work Are you excellent at detail such as balancing numbers including cash managementCan you be focused and friendly at the same timeDo you have a passion for the performing arts and its patrons This is a Part Time role primarily located in downtown Columbus Discounted or free tickets to selected shows is a fun perk Primary Function The Ticket Office Associate is responsible for selling tickets over the counter and by phone through CAPAs phone center for Tessitura ticketed events at CAPA theatres and for select Ticketmaster outlet events The Associate provides ticket sales and support on the night of show as scheduled This position requires premium customer service and a demonstration of respect for the customer as viewed by the customer through all stages of the ticket selling and servicing process Duties and Responsibilities Assists patrons with purchasing subscriptions and single tickets over the counter and by phoneProvides box office support and ticket sales on the night of showBalances all ticket office codes at the end of each business day as assignedGathers and organizes will call for distribution during the night of showFollow customer service best practices from initial purchase through night of show ticketing functionsAdheres to CAPAs cash management proceduresProvides information to customers as requested such as show running time directions parking and seating guidanceThis job description is not designed to contain an exhaustive listing of job related duties and responsibilities; they may change or new ones may be assigned from time to time Knowledge Skills and Abilities Strong attention to detailProficient computer skills Excellent phone and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster outstanding customer service Ability to handle conflict and work closely with others Ability to think critically in high stress and rapidly changing situationsAbility to quickly learn and accurately use multiple ticket systemsAccurate and efficient cash handling skillsAbility to stand for an extended period of time and lift up to 40 lbs Credentials and Experience High School Diploma or equivalentExperience working with the public in a sales capacityAvailability during non traditional work hours nights weekends and the ability to travel to a variety of Columbus Metro based venuesPrevious ticket office experience is a plusTessitura or Ticketmaster knowledge is a plusExperience with Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel is preferred
