Elementary School Attendance Secretary

(Edustaff Employee - Full-time)

M-F 8:20 AM to 3:45 PM

Lake Center Elementary School

2024-25 School Year

Starting April 28th

Job Summary: Assist teachers, parents, students, and principal with varied tasks. Answer phones and perform daily activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists teachers, parents, students, and principals.

Answers phones.

Records daily student attendance.

Works collaboratively with Principal's secretary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Regular and consistent attendance.

Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:

High School diploma

One-year previous office experience

Highly skilled in organization, interpersonal communications and customer service

Ability to be flexible, manage time wisely, and complete job responsibilities with minimal instruction

Demonstrate proficiency and ability to operate a computer and related software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Apps)

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Ability to interpret instructions given in written or oral form

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

Ability to define problems, collect, organize, and report data

Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board policies

Ability to perform complex program and operational support duties

Ability to speak and work effectively and positively with students, staff, and parents

Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years office experience

Associate Degree
