Production Manager

Job Description

Southeastern Tool & Die, a family-owned manufacturer located in Aberdeen, NC, has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Production Manager.

The Production Manager will oversee all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that customer orders are manufactured on-schedule and within quality standards and costs objectives.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Ability to function at a high level in an extremely fast-paced environment

Provide day-to-day leadership and management that reflects the mission of the company

Act as a team role model to positively lead and develop team members to work together in order to achieve individual and team goals

Act as a leader in identifying new opportunities and initiate new process/practices that will enhance business operations, reduce costs, and support in meeting company goals

Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of production to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.

Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.

Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitude, and results.

Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Computer proficient with the ability to present metrics and other data in production meetings. Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing required.

Education Requirements

BA/BS in Operations Management, or a 4-year technical degree in related discipline.

Experience working with manufacturing-based technology (specifically metal fabrication), processes and principles is a must.

5+ years’ experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operation OR a minimum of 5-years’ experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer.

Computer proficient with the ability to present metrics and other data in production meetings.
