Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Mainframe Batch Production Analyst to support TGS and our government customer in Baltimore, MD OR Durham, NC. The shift is Monday to Friday, days.

The objective of this task DBOPC’s objective is to acquire onsite contracting services to support batch integration testing and the migration of software to the SSA multiplatform production batch environment, which consists of IBM’s z/OS operating system and related products and IBM’s Job Entry Subsystem (JES) 3. The contractor will serve as a facilitator, advisor, and technical authority on all activities related to the testing and migration of batch application software.
The Batch Integration Testing Team (BITT) tests and reviews workloads to ensure that Mainframe software integrates seamlessly with agency supported scheduling automation tools. BITT is responsible for testing the functionality of validated mainframe software, JCL, PROCS, external data interchanges, and various vendor products as an integrated package. BITT personnel utilize a complement of integration testing tools to create and execute test plans that support mainframe batch production releases.

Ensure data center requirements are met through PRUF testing
Support online test that require batch processing
Process DB2 Binds to Integration 1 + 2
Migrate software via the Batch Release Production System
Deletion of mainframe elements from production datasets
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The purpose of this function is to evaluate and analyze mainframe batch testing Job Control Language (JCL) for integration testing.
Review, analyze and test batch application software.
Job Control (JCL) statements
JCL Procedures (PROCS)
Provide the task manager with a completed analysis run sheet after performing analysis on Job Control Language (JCL), JCL Procedures, and load modules.
Resolve any Job Control Language (JCL) errors that arise in testing.
Data base load modules
Perform initial Perform Production Release Update Facility (PRUF) test
Submit batch application jobs and analyze and monitor their performance and the batch application job flow using IBM’s (e)JES and BMC’s Control-M products.
Provide guidance to the application communities.
Migrate successfully tested batch application software to production using SSA’s customized migration tool Batch Release Process System (BRPS).
Perform Software Analysis activities that will ensure adherence to the following Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) areas: Planning and Analysis, Development/ Construction, Validation, Testing, Implementation, and Post Implementation.
The contractor shall provide the task supervisor with a detailed, weekly, written status report using the format provided by the agency.
Evaluate and edit Job Control Language (JCL) as it relates to software testing.
Maintain and edit Batch Integration Test Testing (BITT) libraries in support of analysis and batch integration testing of software releases.
Conduct batch integration testing using JCL, (e)JES, and Control-M on released elements in the Batch Release Processing System (BRPS) Matrix, such as load modules, JCL, and PROCs.
Perform Production Release Update Facility (PRUF) testing on JCL, PROCs in the Batch Release Processing System (BRPS) Matrix adhering to SSA’s production standards.
Perform DB2 Binds within an integration test environment.
Update Mainframe Test Requests in the Electronic Batch Service Request System (eBSRS) to reflect the status of testing.
Migrate or reject appropriate elements on the BRPS Matrix before the 2:00 p.m. daily sweep.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Functional Responsibilities:
Provide any post implementation analysis and services, as needed, after the batch application software has been migrated to production. This may include rerunning PRUF tests, performing additional testing, and migrating the successfully tested batch application software to production.
Provide the task supervisor with a detailed, written, technical status report of any issues and errors encountered during testing, using the format provided by the agency. The contractor shall report all issues within 60 to 90 minutes of the occurrence
Make recommendations to avoid future and ongoing problems while testing.
Make recommendations to resolve problems while testing.
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree
At least three (3) years of IT experience providing related IT support
Must be ability to obtain a client sponsored HSPD-12 Suitability
Mainframe testing experience; experience using TSO/ISPF; knowledge of and experience with analyzing JCL; performing BINDS; providing DB2 support with DB2 modules; experience migrating software through a lifecycle.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities to deal with resolving mainframe batch production job performance and operation issues.
Possess analytical skills and knowledge of IBM mainframe architecture, including the z/OS operating system and mainframe utilities, to include, but not limited to: TSO, JES3, ISPF, PDF, (e)JES, Knowledge of Control-M would be beneficial.
