What You'll Do
Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio State Highway Patrol – Public Affairs
Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Days and hours would vary between: Monday - Friday 7\:00 am – 5\:00 pm depending on student’s schedule.
This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).
The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour
Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Digital Media
Journalism

Social Medial
Strategic Communications
Job duties:
Assisting with reviewing and editing media releases
Writing, reviewing and editing articles for The Flying Wheel
Assisting with the development of social media content
Performing other related duties as required
The final candidate should be proficient in:
Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere
Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications:

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
Be in good standing with the college/university.
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
Be enrolled in at least one course.
Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.

A background check including BCI & FBI fingerprint check will be required on all selected applicants
