Essential Function:

Join our IT team and gain hands-on experience supporting the technology that powers our operations. As a Service Desk Intern, you’ll assist in providing friendly, helpful technical support to team members across office and manufacturing environments. Under the guidance of experienced staff, you’ll learn how to configure and install computers, support end users, and maintain IT systems and inventory. This is a great opportunity to build foundational skills in IT support while contributing to real-world projects in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Shadow and assist with diagnosing and resolving common hardware and software issues under supervision.

Support IT staff in basic troubleshooting tasks and end-user support across office and manufacturing areas.

Learn to install and configure new computers and IT equipment with guidance from the Service Desk team.

Participate in guided IT asset management, including inventory tracking and labeling of hardware/software.

Assist in imaging and setting up devices such as laptops, monitors, and docking stations.

Support the onboarding process by preparing user accounts and equipment checklists under staff direction.

Gain exposure to ticketing systems and Active Directory

Observe and participate in 5S/lean manufacturing IT support activities alongside experienced team members.

Contribute to special projects designed for intern development (e.g., knowledge base improvement, asset cleanup).

Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S. Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities. Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Strong interest in IT support and customer service.

Communication and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to learn and collaborate

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
