Controls Engineer

Job Description

Looking for a Sr. Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, and implementation of custom automation systems. This role involves hands-on engineering throughout the full project lifecyclefrom concept to commissioningfocused on delivering high-performance, built-in-the-USA equipment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with project and hardware teams to design and implement control systems for custom machines.

Program and debug PLC and HMI software using customer standards or new designs.

Review electrical and pneumatic schematics and assist with panel builds.

Support machine build, debug, and final acceptance testing.

Travel to customer sites as needed for installation, troubleshooting, and field checks (~20% travel expected).

Complete required checklists, documentation, and field service reports.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience (10+ preferred).

Proficient in PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley).

Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, fluid power, and panel design.

Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.

Comfortable working on multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a team environment.

Familiarity with NEC, IEC, CE, or UL508 standards is a plus.
