Position Overview
Candidate will develop and support AGV electrical and controls systems to be used with material handling applications. Engineer will design and program creative solutions to automate machinery to move and track materials throughout manufacturing environments. Must be able to work collaboratively with other software Engineers and can eventually work independently with minimal support.

Position Responsibilities
Programming Allen-Bradley Controllogix and SLC 505 PLC’s
Developing HMI application software.
Designing machine control systems using AutoCad
Starting up and debugging control systems.
Working on projects with minimum supervision.
Coordinating with other engineers and designers on a project.
Create customized automation designs
Proficient in 2D/3D modeling
Ability to develop, read, and analyze blueprints
Design using 2D/3D modeling; AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Conceptualize, design and analyze parts, components, assemblies and subassemblies
Maintain system and product database by writing computer programs and entering data
Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing
Produce associated conceptual drawings
Identify opportunities for design improvement, and cost reduction
Carry out technical and manufacturing troubleshooting and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences
Evaluate and implement design changes, specifications, and drawing releases, working closely with the engineering team
Support customer builds, installations and production at company and customer plants.
Work closely with suppliers to insure components meet specifications specific to design responsibilities
Candidate must be able to skillfully read and interpret electrical schematics to be used for testing and troubleshooting AGV systems. Ability to use electrical test equipment such as volt meters and oscilloscopes is required. AutoCAD Electrical design experience is a benefit and will be used for updating existing drawing with some simple design work.
Position Requirements
5+ years electrical design experience developing PLC Control Systems.
5+ years electrical design experience utilizing Auto Cad.
AEC seeks to employ Machine Design engineers, Controls Design engineers, PLC and PC programmers, Project Managers, and Field Service engineers.
Electro-mechanical background with minimum of 3 years experience
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams
Minimum of 2 years working with a 3-D CAD program
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualified Electrical Engineer will have experience with PLC-program, installation, repair, design and build (preferably Allen Bradley). Additional skills and knowledge include but are not limited to RSLogix, DevieNet, Power Controls, Lighting, AutoCAD, Wonderware, Wiring Diagrams, HMI, VFD's, Automated Equipment & Controls, AC/DC Motors and Drives, HVAC, Electrician skills, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
Work hours:
Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm
Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required dependent on the needs of the business
Travel is required (varies depending on projects average 10-30% travel)
