Sr. Robotics Welding Technician / Programmer
Location: Midwest-based (Primary travel to WI & SC)
Compensation: $40-43/hr
Hours: 45–50 hours/week
Relocation: Up to $10K (with receipts)
Reports To: VP of Welding Group & Controls Engineer

We are seeking a high-level Robotic Welding Technician/Programmer with strong ABB RobotStudio programming skills to join our dynamic automation team. What You’ll Do
Program robotic weld systems from scratch using ABB RobotStudio (Fanuc experience also valuable)
Develop welding paths, error handling, PLC communication, and motion coordination
Perform robotic torch maintenance, troubleshoot weld cell issues, and optimize performance
Use 3D offline programming tools to build and simulate robotic applications
Read and interpret weld prints, mechanical layouts, and electrical schematics
Set up and tune MIG/TIG weld parameters for high-quality output
Collaborate with assembly teams to meet build schedules and quality standards
Travel to customer sites as needed for system installation and support
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of robotic welding experience, including full-cycle programming and integration
Deep expertise with ABB robotics and RobotStudio (Fanuc a plus)
Background in welding technologies (MIG/TIG required; laser a plus)
Ability to lead weld development, tooling integration, and troubleshooting
Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and team collaboration
Willingness to travel regionally (WI, SC) for project execution
Preferred Education & Skills
Associate's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Welding Technology, or related field
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use welding tools and equipment
Familiar with co-bot programming and safety protocols
Experience in both offline simulation and real-world system debugging
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and use hand tools in a manufacturing setting
Moderate noise environment with occasional travel and on-site service work
