RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead retail portfolio insights by driving strategic insights across a range of topics including:

Retail Growth Landscape insights leadership

Emerging trends (e.g., GLP-1, regulatory shifts, ultra-processed foods, SNAP)

Quarterly reforecasting of consumer behavior and sentiment

Brand equity tracking

M&A and venturing support

Creative testing

Innovation research best practices

Innovation whitespaces support

Trends

Oversee Media Measurement Function: Manage Media Measurement role (one direct report), ensuring oversight of marketing mix modeling, media testing, and campaign effectiveness analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with brand, marketing, strategy, and analytics teams to identify business challenges, define research objectives, and develop actionable insights.

Custom Research Expertise: Apply advanced research techniques and frameworks to uncover deep consumer and shopper insights. Stay current on evolving methodologies and tools.

Data Integration & Synthesis: Leverage syndicated data, secondary sources, and AI tools (e.g., Co-pilot, Deepsights) to enrich insights and storytelling.

Presenting and socializing insights across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.

4 - 6+ years’ experience in consumer/shopper research, marketing, sales or a related field.

Strong analytical skills - including the ability to interpret data and make high level strategic recommendations.

Knowledge in a broad range of consumer research methodologies.

Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.

Leadership and collaboration skills to work seamlessly across verticals, cross functional teams, and research suppliers.

Ability to synergize information from multiple sources to tell a story.

Strong presentation skills along with executive presence.

Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

LOCATION: Austin, MN (Global Headquarters) preferred; also open to candidates based in Minneapolis, MN.

A comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered, if required.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Senior Insights Manager role is between $109,350 - $153,100 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
