About the Role:

We are seeking to hire our first full-stack engineer who should be passionate about both hands-on technical work and product development. As an engineer, your responsibilities will be split between frontend Typescript/React engineering (~50% of your focus), Python/Django backend engineering (~40% of your focus), devops engineering (~10% of your focus). As in most early-stage companies, other responsibilities like sales, speaking with customers, and product ownership should excite you. (These are best estimates according to our current needs, but expect these to change over time as our company grows and evolves!)

Starting Salary: $110,000 - $130,000

Starting Equity: 1-2%

In this role, you will:

Take primary engineering responsibility for our TypeScript/React frontend.

Share responsibilities (with the CTO) for our Python/Django backend.

Contribute to product and feature UI/UX design.

Ensure high-quality code through best practices like testing and documentation.

Continuously improve product monitoring, devops, and DX systems.

Proactively contribute to automate operational tasks.

Participate in incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts.

And, of course, wear many different hats! One week you might research advanced NLP and LLM techniques, in another you might talk to users, and in yet another you might help strategize our product feature roadmap.

We require you to:

Be proficient with TypeScript/React/Tailwind and Python/Django (or similar frameworks for TS and Python).

Understand software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation.

We strongly prefer you to:

Have prior experience developing or researching LLM and/or NLP systems.

Have experience or personal interest in the life sciences and drug discovery industries.

Be enthusiastic about UI and UX design, ideally with prior experience using Figma or similar wireframing tools.

Understand security best practices including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

Have prior experience with cloud deployment of full-stack web applications, with preference for experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Have prior experience implementing devops automation and CI/CD pipelines.
