TRCTalent is working alongside a global manufacturer that specializes in the electrical power/distribution arena. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Low Voltage Motor Control Centers product. This position will be based in Wendell, NC and allows a hybrid schedule. This person will lead the Electrical Engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of LV MCC systems and solutions. The LV MCC Electrical Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire engineering process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring the delivery of high-quality LV MCC solutions that meet our clients' specifications and industry standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of Electrical Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Take ownership of the overall electrical engineering experience for our LV products. This will include leadership and technical support during the quotation, design approval, detailed engineering and post-project lessons learned phases
• Collaborate closely with the business development and quotations teams to ensure we are offering clear technical solutions with attainable schedules.
• Collaborate closely with R&D / PLM on developing tools and processes for the launch of new LV products
• Be a technical leader with a strong focus on employee skills development.
• Manage the day-to-day needs of the team. This will include training and coaching of new team members, schedule management, escalation resolution and coordination with factory/field stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, project management, and manufacturing, to define project requirements and deliverables.
• Drive the design and development of LV MCC systems, including component selection, schematics creation, and layout design.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations throughout the engineering process.
• Review and establish engineering processes and documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders, resolving engineering-related issues and inquiries in a timely manner.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in LV MCC engineering, and incorporate relevant advancements into our engineering processes.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team, promoting innovation, efficiency, and excellence in all aspects of LV MCC design and development.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field (or foreign equivalent) and 5+ years of experience in a technical engineering role with some portion of that working as a technical lead on power systems projects
• Ability to analyze customers' technical documentation to interpret and apply appropriate product offerings.
• Excellent communications skills
• Excellent collaboration, leadership, and decision-making skills in a team environment with demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office tools and SAP.
• Demonstrated experience as a leader within an engineering organization driving a culture focused on customer experience, with or without direct authority
• Demonstrated knowledge of power systems protection, controls, and automation applications
• Up to 10% travel required to attend trainings, workshops, events, and special meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient in the design and application of electrical distribution products.
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards for power distribution applications.
• Working Knowledge of UL 845 will be plus.
• Working knowledge of standard protection and control technologies used in low voltage power distribution products.
• Motor Control Center engineering or equipment experience.
• Local candidates in and around the Raleigh / Durham area.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
