A growing and dynamic organization in the Santa Fe Springs / City of Industry area is looking for a Controller to oversee and manage financial operations across multiple subsidiaries. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with a trusted client of Robert Half, working in the manufacturing/construction industry.

About the Role:
This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance, along with a hands-on approach to building and improving processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting team
Develop and implement internal controls and accounting procedures
Manage monthly and annual closings for multiple subsidiaries
Produce consolidated financial reports and provide strategic analysis
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state sales tax regulations
Oversee AP, AR, budgeting, forecasting, and tax reporting
Conduct variance analysis and monitor financial performance
Manage fixed assets, leases, and construction-in-progress accounts
Coordinate with external partners including auditors, banks, and insurance brokers
Deliver ad hoc financial reports and analysis as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong accounting and leadership experience in manufacturing and/or construction
Proficiency in financial reporting, compliance, and multi-entity structures
Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
CPA or advanced accounting education is a plus

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
• Expertise in NetSuite financial modules, including implementation and customization.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, distribution, or material handling equipment industries is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of financial principles, federal and state regulations, and accounting systems.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to develop and manage team members effectively.
