Payroll Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our team in Chicago, Illinois, on a long-term contract basis. This role focuses on Canadian payroll processes, requiring expertise in tax forms, reconciliations, and provincial payroll differences. The ideal candidate will be highly independent and skilled in handling complex payroll tasks, including year-end activities and equity plan processing.

Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll operations for approximately 1,000 Canadian employees, including pay changes, terminations, new hires, and service tickets.

• Perform T-4 reconciliations and ensure compliance with provincial payroll regulations.

• Process payroll transactions for active, terminated, and equity plan participants.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and address payroll discrepancies efficiently.

• Update employee payroll records, including address changes and tax information.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills for payroll calculations and reporting.

• Handle year-end payroll activities with precision and accuracy.

• Provide auditing support to ensure payroll data integrity.

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll-related inquiries.• Proven experience in Canadian payroll processes and tax regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ADP Workforce Now and Dayforce.

• Strong knowledge of payroll reconciliation methods and year-end processes.

• Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with provincial payroll differences and compliance requirements.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience in 401k or RRSP administration is a plus.

• Prior exposure to equity plan payroll processing is preferred.
