What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Development Manager, you will lead multiple high-impact multifamily development projects—including both conventional and Build-to-Rent (BTR) asset types—from site acquisition through stabilization. This role is central to our growth strategy and requires a proactive leader with deep market insight, technical expertise, and a strong ability to manage complex projects independently.
You will be responsible for sourcing development sites, conducting due diligence, and navigating zoning, environmental, and entitlement challenges. You’ll also drive financial feasibility analysis, coordinate design and construction teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, our corporate offices overlook the Columbus Commons which plays hosts to over 200 events throughout the year. Enjoy the building’s fitness center and rooftop terrace with adjoining clubroom, and walk to some of the city’s best restaurants and downtown amenities. This role is also eligible to work based in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX.
What You’ll Own:
Site Sourcing & Acquisition
Identify and evaluate new development opportunities in target markets.
Build and maintain relationships with brokers, landowners, and local officials to uncover on- and off-market sites.
Lead due diligence efforts including zoning analysis, environmental assessments, title review, and risk mitigation.
Project Development & Execution
Manage the full development lifecycle, from acquisition through lease-up and stabilization.
Oversee entitlement processes and coordinate with municipalities and community stakeholders.
Guide design development with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure alignment with project goals and budgets.
Collaborate with construction teams to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain quality and schedule.
Financial & Strategic Oversight
Prepare and manage detailed development budgets, pro formas, and investment memos.
Conduct market research and financial modeling to support investment decisions.
Contribute to the evolution of the company’s development strategy and pipeline planning.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field, required.
8+ years of practical working experience in real estate development, construction, or related fields with a demonstrated track record of sourcing and managing multifamily or residential projects.
Ability to demonstrate deep knowledge of entitlement processes, permitting, site planning, and construction project delivery.
Exceptional financial acumen and experience managing large project budgets and investor/lender reporting requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to represent Coastal Ridge externally to influence stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset – comfortable navigating both day-to-day execution and long-term planning.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management and financial modeling tools preferred.
