We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-driven MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Sales Specialist to support inventory control and supply management at strategic customer sites in the Columbus, OH area. This role is critical to maintaining efficient on-site operations, ensuring part availability, and strengthening our long-term partnerships through consistent, high-quality service. It also offers a strong foundation for individuals interested in transitioning into a technical outside sales path—providing exposure to customer-facing operations, product knowledge, and solution-based selling in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain inventory, stock, and supply at customer storeroom locations.

Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for key customers, ensuring consistent communication and exceptional service.

Business Development: Understand customer maintenance schedules to identify new business opportunities and negotiate commercial terms to expand onsite stockroom utilization.

Sales Collaboration: Work closely with outside sales and inside support teams to identify opportunities, coordinate quotations, and follow up on leads.

Reporting: Utilize company platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to manage and report all business and sales activities.

Safety: Adhere to and respect safety requirements at each customer site.

Prospecting: Continually seek new business within existing customer locations and assist with introductory sales calls for new account leads.

Administrative Duties: Meet deadlines for customer needs and complete required administrative tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical aptitude and ability to read electrical schematics/diagrams

Independent self-management and effective time management

Problem-solving and analytical skills

Teamwork orientation and project management experience

Valid Driver’s License required

Education & Experience

Required:

High school diploma or GED

1–2 years of related experience or training

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical field

3+ years of experience selling products in the process control industry

Experience with CMMS or ERP systems

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and varying noise levels at customer sites.

Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and occasional sitting for extended periods.

Visual acuity for close/distance/color/peripheral vision and depth perception

Additional Information.

Occasional overnight travel may be required, primarily during business hours.

Limited supervisory responsibility related to projects and customer relations.
