Senior Database Infrastructure Engineer

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a HYBRID Senior Database Infrastructure Engineer job in New Haven, CT. In this role, you will be responsible for the full life cycle of database administration including design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of secure, optimized, and highly recoverable database systems. You will play a lead role in DB2 Z/OS and DB2 LUW initiatives, while also supporting SQL Server and Snowflake environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned infrastructure engineer with deep database expertise and a proactive mindset toward data governance and high availability.

Senior Database Infrastructure Engineer Job responsibilities:

Lead administration projects for DB2 Z/OS and DB2 LUW across on-prem and cloud environments

Install, configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise-grade database systems

Support data governance by enforcing security audits and transactional compliance

Resolve incidents, service requests, and change management activities related to database operations

Collaborate with IT and business teams as a technical expert in database infrastructure

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Seven to ten years of experience administering DBMS platforms, especially DB2 Z/OS and DB2 LUW

Experience with SQL Server and Snowflake is a plus

Strong understanding of database principles, performance optimization, and troubleshooting

Ability to lead complex database projects and share DB2 expertise across the team
