Roofer Mechanics and/or General Laborers

Precision Slate and Tile Roofing, Co is in search of dynamic and team-oriented Roofer Mechanics and/or General Laborers to join our team in Columbus, OH! Whether you have experience in the roofing industry or are looking to jump start your career, this is a great opportunity for you! As a General Laborer, you will be assisting with various labor activities on job sites, with the goal of moving up to a Roofer role.

Pay: Up to $30/hour, offer dependent on experience

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

No weekends

40-hours weeks with opportunity of overtime

The right General laborer candidate will have:

Experience with slate and tile required for Roofer Mechanics

High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred

Ability to load materials onto trucks (up to 50 lbs) for daily jobs

Safety conscious about work environment

The right Roofer Mechanics will have:

All tools required to perform job duties: slate ripper, slate cutter, combo kit of power tools including drill, grinder, saw, metal snips, soldering irons, dip jars, caulk gun, chalk line, hand tongs, 4’ level, pop rivet gun, downspout crimps, assortment of drill bits and drivers for screws.

Basic wood repair skills

Basic understanding of roofing such as, how water runs, concept of why something would leak, and can find and diagnose a leak.

Responsibilities for Roofer Meachnics:

Fills out paperwork for materials and tools, works on job site.

Able to perform all laborer and apprentice duties (see laborer job description)

Tear out and reinstall a valley, install straight and step counters, tear out entire brick chimney, measure make and solder and reinstall backpan.

Repair slate, tile, shingle, or asbestos roof.

Can hang and install gutters and have them flow, along with copper downspout.

Seeks out opportunities to assist others and observe process and techniques of others to actively learn during down time.

Works independently on smaller tasks

Responsibilities for General Laborer:

Loads materials onto trucks (up to 50 lbs) for daily jobs and cleans out trucks from the previous jobs.

Able to safely access the roof from extension ladder onto: roof, hook ladder, scaffolding, roof jack, box gutter, stop gutter, etc.

Wear toolbelt at all times on job with the following: standard toolbelt, utility knife, 25’fat max tape measure, 5-1 tool, 160z straight claw hammer, popper.
