Job Summary
The Application Technician plays a key role in supporting product commercialization by leading pilot plant operations and assisting food technologists in product development. This position requires expertise in food processing methods, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Required Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma (required).
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Chemistry (preferred). Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience within a food or flavor company. Technical Proficiency:
Must be comfortable with Processing Microthermics and UHT systems.
Key Responsibilities
Pilot Plant Operations & Product Commercialization
Lead routine pilot plant runs to support product development and commercialization.
Maintain pilot plant equipment to ensure sanitary and safe production of food products.
Food Product Development & Testing
Support food technologists in flavor screening, formula iterations, and product tastings.
Assist in setting up tastings, gathering tasting data, and optimizing product formulations in the Sweet Goods category.
Logistics & Inventory Management
Pack and ship outgoing samples to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
Maintain inventory of packaging materials, ingredients, and general lab supplies to ensure smooth lab operations.
