A client of Insight Global is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer to join their engineering team in Topeka, KS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing soil, rock, and other earth materials to determine their physical and chemical properties and their suitability for construction and infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in designing foundations, retaining walls, slopes, tunnels, and other geotechnical elements.
Responsibilities:
Conduct site investigations, field testing, and laboratory analysis of soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
Perform geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and retaining structures.
Prepare technical reports, geotechnical recommendations, and design calculations.
Interpret geotechnical data to support infrastructure design and construction.
Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
Monitor construction sites to ensure geotechnical designs are being implemented correctly.
Assist in preparing project proposals, cost estimates, and timelines.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
Experienced with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience with deep foundation design and ground improvement techniques
Knowledge of environmental regulations and geotechnical risk assessments
Familiarity with GIS and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)

Compensation:
$25/hr to $30/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
