Biomedical Engineering Technologist

Note: Candidates must hold a Biomedical Engineering degree from an accredited college or university to be considered for this position - this is mandatory.

Spectramedx is looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Biomedical Engineering Technologist at our Waterloo headquarters. The successful candidate will join our service team in providing on-going repairs and preventative maintenance services on medical devices.

Requirements

Bachelors of Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited college

Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Healthcare Technology support role (healthcare centre or OEM)

Previous experience repairing circuits and performing component level repair

OEM training from Philips or other recognized OEMs on medical devices preferred with certification of training as proof.

Previous experience using CMMS software

Responsibilities

Incoming inspection & troubleshooting

Identification of faulty components

Performing repairs

Performing Preventative Maintenance

Calibration - post repair and PM

Documentation of work into CMMS software

Inventory Management and reporting

Communication with customers through email

Skills

Basic knowledge of biomedical instrumentation and equipment

Solid foundation of respiratory devices (CPAPs, BiPAPs, Ventilators, O2 Blenders)

Excellent knowledge of circuit theory and component level diagnosis

Professional soldering & reworking skills

Professional verbal and written communication skills

Solid foundation in using Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)

Self starter & self motivated
