Role Overview

BEPC Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced PLC Controls Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of advanced software programming applications. This role involves significant travel—up to 90%—to client sites nationwide and 10% onsite work in Mason, OH. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with programming and electrical systems, possess leadership capabilities, and demonstrate a strategic approach to project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead planning, execution, and technical management for PLC controls projects.

Act as the Lead Engineer on multiple projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.

Design and implement software for programmable logic controllers and related automation equipment.

Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and coordinate resources on-site and remotely.

Interface and integrate with warehouse control systems, HMI systems, and machine vision tools.

Document all technical work, generate reports, and maintain alignment with internal and external expectations.

Conduct all phases of testing, including FAT, UAT, and BUAT, ensuring system reliability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

7+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience, ideally in warehouse automation or material handling.

Demonstrated leadership in project or team settings.

Proficient in PLC programming: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff.

Experienced in Codesys, ladder logic, motion control, VFDs, and industrial network protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Serial).

Familiar with HMI software: Aveva Edge, Rockwell FTV Studio, Ignition.

Expertise in scanner/machine vision system interfaces.

Strong documentation and verbal/written communication skills.

Tools and Software:

Logix 5000, Studio 5000, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View, AutoCAD Electrical, B&R Automation Studio, SST Profibus Tool, Ignition, SOPAS, DataMan, Siemens TIA Portal.

Contract Details

Duration: Start ASAP; contract end date based on project completion.

Location: 90% travel nationwide; 10% on-site in Mason, OH.

Hours: 8 AM–5 PM (may vary).

Timekeeping: Fieldglass system.

Interviews: Conducted via Microsoft Teams.

Pay Rate: $45.66–$48.86/hr.

Expenses: Submit weekly as Miscellaneous Invoice for reimbursement.
