A leading national security software company is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (Infrastructure) to support high-stakes government environments. This team is responsible for ensuring seamless operations of mission-critical platforms across cloud, on-prem, commercial, and classified networks. In this role, you’ll build, maintain, and scale high-performance infrastructure that supports defense and intelligence missions.
Core Responsibilities
Operate and support complex software systems across government and commercial environments
Perform infrastructure migrations and deploy new platforms at customer sites
Troubleshoot, optimize, and debug distributed services with an eye toward long-term scalability
Automate manual workflows and eliminate operational toil through scripting and tooling
Provide fast, high-quality technical support during production incidents
Participate in a shared on-call rotation with the engineering team
Experience
1–3 years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or site reliability roles
Experience with system architecture in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), on-prem systems, and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems, observability, and config management
Skills
Strong ability to read and comprehend code
Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex systems
Automation-focused mindset with experience writing scripts or infrastructure code
Excellent communication skills and team collaboration
Comfortable operating independently in fast-moving, mission-critical environments
Salary: $135K - $200K + Equity + Benefits
