Lead Embedded Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Lead Embedded Software Engineer to take charge of building embedded software for advanced sensor systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-moving, hands-on environment, capable of working independently while also mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong embedded system architecture experience who enjoys both coding and contributing to the technical direction of a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Begin as an individual contributor with a growth path toward leading a small team (1–3 direct reports).

Design and implement embedded software architectures for high-performance firmware.

Develop both low-level drivers and high-level system logic.

Guide and support other engineers through technical mentorship.

Ensure software meets performance, quality, and reliability standards.

Contribute to long-term planning and team alignment as leadership responsibilities increase.

Basic Qualifications:

HARD Location Requirement: Must live within 30 minutes of the office or be willing to relocate.

Expertise in C and C++, with working knowledge of Python.

Strong Linux-based development experience.

Hands-on experience with embedded systems and system-level bring-up.

Proven ability to architect and implement complex embedded systems.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Comfortable working in a high-velocity, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with RTOS, functional safety, or embedded system security.

Exposure to Rust is a plus.

Prior experience working with sensor technology, robotics, or autonomous systems.
