Job Title: Creative & Social Media Lead– Backpacker’s Pantry

Location: Boulder, CO (Hybrid)

About the Brand:

Backpacker’s Pantry is built on the belief that great food can elevate outdoor experiences. Since 1951, we’ve been crafting gourmet freeze-dried meals designed to sustain adventurers and inspire exploration. As a family-owned company based in Boulder, Colorado, we take pride in combining culinary excellence with sustainable practices, ensuring that our products nourish both people and the planet. Our heritage is rooted in innovation, environmental responsibility, and a relentless commitment to quality. Whether it’s on a mountain peak or around a campfire, we exist to fuel unforgettable moments in the outdoors.

What Will You Do:

American Outdoor Products is looking for a skilled and passionate Creative & Social Media Lead to oversee creative initiatives for our two sub-brands, Backpacker's Pantry and Astronaut Foods. This role will be a blend of packaging design, asset creation for various selling channels, and managing organic social media content. You will be instrumental in helping us develop unique brand stories, ensuring that both brands maintain a consistent, dynamic, and engaging presence across all touchpoints.

Responsibilities:

Packaging Design (20%): Lead design efforts for product packaging for both Backpacker's Pantry and Astronaut Foods, ensuring consistency with brand identity and alignment with market trends.

Asset Development (30%): Create and manage digital and print assets across multiple selling channels, including eCommerce (website content, email content, etc.), as well as retail and events collateral

Paid Ad Development (20%): Design and develop advertising assets for META (Facebook/Instagram), Amazon, and other digital ad platforms, ensuring ads are engaging, on-brand, and optimized for conversion.

Organic Social Media (30%): Develop, manage, and execute creative strategies for organic social media content (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) for both brands, focusing on engagement, growth, and community building. You’ll work in conjunction with leadership to plan and manage content calendars for each brand.

Creative Ideation: Contribute ideas and concepts to campaigns and brand storytelling, helping push creative boundaries while staying true to AOP's mission.

Partner Management: Source and manage external partners (e.g., photographers, videographers, illustrators, production agencies) as needed for specialized content.

Stay ahead on design trends, social media best practices, and new tools and technologies to elevate the brands' presence.

Who You Are:

You are an energetic, adaptable person with an entrepreneurial spirit. You enjoy collaboration as part of a high-performing team, and you are inclined to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities. You thrive in dynamic environments where there is always something to be done, priorities may shift, and new challenges consistently arise. You can capably develop and implement systems and processes, but you are most excited about working with people. You are a creative at heart and seek out opportunities to tell the stories of the brand.

Qualifications:

An engaging portfolio showcasing experience in branding, design, and social media content creation for multiple brands or projects.
