DevOps Engineer

In this role, we will ask you to:

● Design, build, and maintain our core infrastructure in AWS, ensuring our production and non-production environments are scalable, reliable, and secure.

● Own and improve our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Kubernetes to manage our cloud resources systematically and repeatably.

● Manage and scale our Kubernetes clusters, ensuring they are secure and performing optimally.

● Support our CI/CD pipelines, optimizing for speed and reliability to help our development teams ship code faster.

● Champion Developer Experience (DevX) by providing the support necessary to ensure developers can effectively and efficiently build, test, and ship their code.

● Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their needs and provide infrastructure solutions that enable them to achieve their goals.

● Participate in on-call rotations, periodically serving as the frontline presence for monitoring, diagnosing, and triaging production service issues

● Grow your engineering skills and help others on the team do the same by participating in design reviews and code reviews

● Coordinate with multiple teams across several codebases in the engineering organization

ABOUT YOU

● You are driven to use your skills and talents to help fix the climate crisis

● You have 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role, including hands-on experience in an infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps role

● If you’re based in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will be working from our San Francisco office 3 days/week

● You have strong hands-on experience with AWS and its core services, as well as proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform

● You have solid experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)

● You have experience managing and building CI/CD pipelines (preferably CircleCI), or are willing to learn these skills

● You are comfortable with scripting and automation in languages like Python and Bash

● You have excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset

● You take a proactive approach to problem-solving and have a strong desire to take ownership of projects

● You thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, and are open to adjusting priorities to meet changing business need
