Responsibilities:
Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations.
Disassembles existing aircraft structure for modification install, which could involve modifying removed parts or installing new parts from a kit per engineering drawings. Interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings for the proper tools, fasteners, location and methods of installation to meet required specification.
Lays out, locates, fits, trims, assembles, and installs parts assemblies and skins where dimensions are critical, and fitting is to exacting tolerance.
Drill, countersink and rivet exterior skin panels where skin quality is critical. Works from all types of complex blueprints, E.O.s, and production illustrations.
Completes any or all structural rework/repair, squawks, and E.O.
Must be able to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties.
May be required to work in confined space.
Fabricate detail parts from blueprint or engineering instructions.
Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and inspections.
Requirements:
Document detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical orders, drawings, and blueprints.
Always maintain training currency.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to schedule job tasks to meet completion timeline.
Five (5) years of documented experience in aircraft structural installation, modification, troubleshooting and repair.
Heavy C-130 structural modification experience preferred.
Some travel possible, up to 25%
Ability to utilize computer based systems to perform duties.
Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
5 years of aircraft mechanical experience.
