Job Description
We are seeking a skilled 2-dimensional inspector with structural steel experience. This role involves performing visual inspections before and after welding of iron and steel parts. The inspector will read blueprints, measure parts using a tape measure, and ensure accuracy by verifying against the blueprints. The ideal candidate will have a background in steel or iron, with a fitter background being a plus.
Responsibilities
Perform dimensional inspection of shop fabrication and final paint inspections.
Ensure fabricated materials conform to shop drawings, shop standards, and specifications.
Maintain in-process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production control in a timely manner.
Inform foremen of any dimensional concerns.Essential Skills
Experience in structural steel inspection.
Ability to read blueprints.
Proficiency with a tape measure.
Visual inspection skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in steel or iron industries.

Work Environment
This role is based in a shop environment next to an office building. The shop is open with large beams and iron products being moved around, which can lead to a loud environment. Temperature varies with the seasons, being colder in winter and warmer in summer. The company employs around 40-50 people and operates on a 4-10s schedule starting at 6am, with potential for working up to 6 days a week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
