Mechanical Assembler/Inventory Specialist

plants across the globe with a strong technical services/machine shop network in North America.
Summary
The Mechanical Assembler will disassemble, clean, repair, assemble, and test some components of continuous casting apparatus.
The position is primarily responsible for preparing products for shipment, staging material in their correct areas, packaging that may need to be assembled.
The candidate will also assist in maintaining and organizing the inventory of service parts and assigning inventory items to correct bin locations and work orders for job completion.
The right candidate will
Be a safety minded person who enjoys hands on work.
Ability to assemble and disassemble various components.
Organization of storage and inventory areas according to production and shipping needs.
Maintain service parts inventory items for use in internal work order assemblies.
Validate and update product inventory.
Package parts appropriately for shipping (i.e. envelopes, boxes and crates).
Document daily activities.
Must possess good mechanical skills in daily operations.
Performs cleaning, grinding, painting and all related tasks to buildings, equipment, components, and subassemblies.
Performs clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc.
Must be courteous and work well with others.
Complete Maintenance Request Forms for items in work area in need of repair
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, upholding a world-class standard of housekeeping.
Ability to work with a safety conscientious attitude and report any unsafe acts or area to members of management.
What you’ll need
Good mechanical skills.
Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
Mathematics – Knows basic shop math, and other functions necessary for the job
Blueprint reading - interprets drawings
Cranes – lifts equipment safely, knows where disconnect switches are, performs daily crane inspections, loads and unloads trucks, stages equipment
Forklift – drive safely, load and unload, refuel, perform daily forklift inspections
Basic computer skills
MS Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Experience using an ERP system (Global Shop Solutions).
Work from bills of material, purchasing lists, shipping documents and parts/ shop supplies
Self-motivation to identify, analyze and independently work to find solutions to flow issues is essential.
Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks.
Ability to multi-task in order to handle multiple assignments and job requirements at one time.
