Are you passionate about maintaining safe, clean, and thriving neighborhoods? The Village of Lemont is seeking a proactive and community-focused Code Enforcement Officer to join our Community Development team on a part-time basis.
In this role, you'll be the Village’s eyes and ears on the ground—responding to resident concerns, inspecting properties, and helping maintain the charm and integrity of our neighborhoods. You'll work closely with the public, property owners, and fellow departments to ensure local codes are followed and community standards are upheld.Requirements:
What You'll Do:
Investigate property maintenance and zoning complaints
Educate and collaborate with residents and businesses to resolve violations
Conduct field inspections and document findings
Issue citations or notices when needed
Represent the Village in hearings when necessary
What We’re Looking For:
A strong communicator and problem-solver
Someone with a customer-service mindset who can enforce rules with professionalism and respect
Experience in code enforcement or property inspection is a plus
ICC Code Enforcement certification or willingness to obtain within one year
Valid Illinois Driver’s License required
