Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Engineer with mechanical and electrical engineering systems aptitude. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a proven track record of managing application/integration projects, and a passion for solving complex problems. Must be willing to travel 25%-50%, be able to colloborate actions across multiple departments, host commercial/technical customer meetings, have a personable demeanor, and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. This role will involve overseeing all phases of the sales opportunity lifecycle, identifying customer needs, providing technical support, and ensuring delivery on time throughout the sales process.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Support & Technical Expertise:

Represent our company as the technical expert for mechanical and electrical products and services, providing in-depth product knowledge to customers.

Work closely with the sales team to strengthen opportunities and close sales.

Prepare and present technical proposals, product demonstrations, and recommend solutions to customers in person and virtually.

Collaborate with customers to define system requirements and ensure alignment between customer expectations and product offerings.

Product Solutions & Specifications:

Assist in the creation of detailed product specifications, ensuring technical accuracy, creating customer test plans, reviewing lab test data, and validating feasibility.

Work closely with the Engineering Design, Product Management, Test & Integration lab, and Project Management teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into application engineering solutions.

Coordination & Support:

Support the Sales Team by providing technical guidance and ensuring that the systems are correctly specified and implemented.

Provide pre-sales technical support, field demonstrations, detailed documentation, and engineering guidance.

Continuously improve customers' product knowledge and technical aptitude through in-person and virtual meetings.

Identify potential risks, promote risk mitigation strategies, and coordinate timely resolution of issues.

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication on opportunity status, risks, and timelines.

Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to leadership and customers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 3 years of equivalent experience.

2+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems (e.g., Electrical motor systems, VFD systems, HVAC).

Proven experience supporting complex systems with excellent customer service.

Must be adept in the preparation and setup of presentation and demonstrations in customer facilities, conference rooms, remote sites, or marketing events.

Able and willing to travel (25%-50%) with Sales team members seeking new opportunities.

Excellent communication skills, including flexibility in front of customers, and prompt, accurate responses.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in field focused testing, installation, operations, and system integration.

Experience with engineering software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Visio, etc...)

Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, DOE).
