QUALIFICATIONS:
Standard New Jersey State Principal Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility.
Knowledge and experience of special education, regular education and remedial education programs, and curricula.
Ability to implement an effective staff evaluation and staff development program.
Knowledge of effective models and designs for high standard student academic program.
Evidence of successful experience in a supervisory position.
Knowledge of child study team.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to students with disabilities.
Certification in education services field preferred.
Success in grant writing.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Commission finds appropriate.
SCOPE:
The Vice Principal of Schools for Special Services, reports to the school principal and, as requested and approved, assists the principal in supervisory and administrative duties required to ensure full compliance to statutes and code of high standard of academic program for students
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the development, design and implementation of high quality school programs, initiating curricula development, as directed by the principal to meet the changing and expanding student needs.
Assist in providing supervision and evaluation of certified and non-certified staff, in the ongoing upgrade of staff performance.
Assume the administrative responsibility for the school building in the event of any absence of the principal.
Assist in providing staff development training through in-service workshops and model demonstration instruction within classrooms.
Assist in seeking sources of program funding and assist in developing grant proposals, to increase school/program resources and broaden student educational offerings.
Assist in monitoring instructional materials, resources and equipment, to ensure alignment with students' individualized objectives and goals, incorporating board approved curricula.
Assist in effective student management.
Oversee case management and assist principal with student intakes, as appropriate.
Provide student interventions, discipline and counseling, sharing crisis intervention techniques with staff, to enhance their performance.
Keep abreast of current methods, philosophies and programs in the literature and research and incorporate to enhance student programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Principal.

MINIMUM SALARY: $95,000 / To Be Determined based upon Pending Administrator Association Agreement
