We are actively seeking an experienced Machine Fabricator to join our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and modifying metal components and machinery using various tools and fabrication techniques. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in MIG and TIG welding, blueprint reading, and operating industrial fabrication equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate, cut, shape, and weld metal components according to engineering blueprints and mechanical drawings
Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum parts
Operate fabrication machinery including press brakes, shears, grinders, and power tools
Accurately assemble complex mechanical systems and components
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and levels to verify tolerances
Diagnose issues in mechanical systems and repair or replace faulty parts
Collaborate with engineers and team members to improve design and fabrication processes
Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment
Maintain quality by inspecting and testing finished products for conformance
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in machine fabrication, welding, or a related manufacturing role
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Proficient in MIG and TIG welding across multiple materials
Skilled in the use of fabrication tools and machinery
Strong attention to detail, precision, and quality
Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience in custom machine building, custom fabrication or industrial equipment assembly
Knowledge of machining processes including drilling, tapping, and cutting
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement
