DNV’s Energy Management (EM) team is seeking a collaborative and thoughtful professional to help shape how we deliver clean energy solutions for utilities, government agencies, and market partners. As the Head of Solution Strategy & Innovation, you will guide the development of proposals and solution strategies that align our technology capabilities—across software, analytics, and delivery support—with the needs of public and regulated energy programs.
You will help shape pricing approaches, communicate product value, and support innovation efforts that make our services more accessible and impactful. This work includes close collaboration with product, customer enablement, IT, and analytics teams to ensure our offerings are practical, scalable, and grounded in client needs.
You will work in close coordination with EM Technology leadership, the Market Growth & Development team, and operational and customer-facing teams. This role also includes contributing to pitch content and proposal materials, with attention to clear communication, user experience, and effective presentation.
This role is based at our DNV office in Katy, TX; Oakland, CA; Chalfont, PA; Oak Brook, IL; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; Jersey City, NJ and Dublin, OH, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. What You'll Do
Lead the end-to-end strategy and coordination of RFP responses that incorporate software, data, and system architecture elements in a way that aligns with client requirements and DNV’s platform capabilities.
Work cross-functionally with EM Technology leadership, Legal, Market Growth & development, and customer operations teams to shape offerings grounded in our technical capabilities.
Define solution architecture narratives and contribute to technical volumes of proposals in close partnership with EM leadership, the Customer Enablement team, product managers, data scientists, and engineering leads.
Manage pricing strategy with awareness of system design, integration requirements, and support costs.
Drive alignment between solution development investments and financial goals by contributing to revenue tracking and ensuring innovation efforts are prioritized based on market growth opportunities.
Translate complex technical components into clear, compelling customer-facing proposal content and visuals.
Coordinate innovation efforts tied to technical delivery—including pilots, new digital workflows, and solution enhancements.
Monitor market and policy trends to anticipate future technical needs and inform the innovation roadmap.

As required by the Pay Transparency laws in Colorado, New York City, California, Washington, and Connecticut, DNV provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in those locations. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the states of Colorado, New York City, NY, California, Washington, and Connecticut only, the range of starting pay for this role is $135,000 - $155,000 USD.

Qualifications
What is Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, data science, energy systems, or a related field or equivalent experience with product, platform, or solution design.
5+ years of experience in a technology-driven strategy, solution design, or innovation leadership role
Ability to understand and translate software, platform, or analytics capabilities into strategic solution offerings
Proven experience contributing to RFP responses, including technical content development, pricing input, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Strong collaboration skills across technical, legal, operational, and market-facing teams
Familiarity with energy efficiency, electrification, demand flexibility, utility customer experience, rate enrollment, renewables, or related digital platforms.
Excellent written, visual, and verbal English communication skills with an ability to translate complex offerings into customer-focused narratives

Experience in productized services, innovation portfolio management, or technical pre-sales
