OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: Production Associates will operate all equipment and produce all finished products to comply with all laws, policies and standards governing food safety and quality. Production Associates are obligated to report all food safety and quality issues that may occur.
SUMMARY: Fills in production positions when other associates leave for break or lunch. Must be able to operate all machinery, perform mixing position and maintain a steady workflow when the regular worker is gone. Attend regularly and on time a five- or six-day work week including weekends and holidays and possible split days off. Scheduled 8 hours or more per day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate all machinery and perform all duties of each operator and utility associate.
Must maintain an organized, clean and sanitary working area.
Recording all appropriate data where and when necessary. i.e. Times, Temperatures, Product Changes, Weights
Communicating with others. i.e. operators, utility personnel, supervisors
Also refer to other job descriptions. Performs all duties of mixer, HBD operator, wrapping operator, corner person, and utility person.
Assists supervisor as needed.
Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Fill in as Utility Person when mixing duties are completed.
Adjusting formulation to meet conditions of ingredient variations as approved by
Supervision.
Scaling of minor ingredients.
Cleaning of equipment.

Able to add subtract, multiply, divide, and estimate.
Work requires the ability to read, write and speak English and to perform arithmetic.
Calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute percentage and possibly understand metric measurements.
Responsible experience is required for preparation and training to meet standards.
Training in Hazardous Material and Lock Out-Tag Out procedure.
Some analytical ability required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex in dealing with various ingredients and chemicals.
Independent judgment is occasionally required. Direct guidance is received from Supervisor and/or from established procedures or instructions. A moderate impact of errors would result in significant cost in time, money or public acceptance of product quality.
Infrequent contact with other associates as work area is isolated.
No responsibility for performance of others, but as the start of the production process, all the actions this job initiates, coordinates and affects the work of others.
During periods of unworked time or downtime, it is required that work is to be done as assigned by the Supervisor.
A quality product is the responsibility of each associate. Be alert to correct or report any damaged or inferior product to Supervision.
Keep area of assigned work neat and clean. Assist other associates when possible.
Notify Supervision of any equipment problems.
Maintain a high state of safety awareness:
Keep hands out of moving machinery.
Lift properly.
Be alert to movement of materials or other people to give right of way as needed.
Do not change job procedures without authorization from a supervisor.
