Job Description:
The Next Gen Director is responsible for equipping and leading ministry leaders to create impactful experiences that help children, students, and families at The Heights Church encounter the life-transforming power of the gospel. This includes encouraging them to know Jesus, grow in their faith, and engage the world with a heart to serve. The role involves cultivating a safe and welcoming environment, developing and implementing a strategic plan to reach and retain children from birth through 12th grade and into young adulthood. The Next Gen Director also collaborates with department leaders on sermon/lesson planning and ensures ministry content is clear, engaging, and teachable by volunteers.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for Heights Jr., Kids, Youth, and Young Adult ministries.
Hold regular meetings with team leaders to provide guidance and support, including monthly one-on-one oversight sessions.
Offer hands-on assistance within each department as needed.
Lead with enthusiasm, encouragement, and a servant-hearted attitude.
Coordinate with other department leads for graphics, email schedules, and social media.
Assist team leaders with scheduling, hiring and training.
Build and foster strategic partnerships with parents and schools.
Align with the church-wide calendar for family events, retreats, summer camps, volunteer appreciation, etc.
Manage Next Gen budget under the direction of oversight.
Achieve ministry growth markers year-over-year.
Ensure adherence to all church policies and procedures.
Regularly review and recommend updates to manuals and forms.
Seek opportunities to improve processes with excellence in mind.
Schedule and conduct annual safety drills and evaluations.
Assist in coordinating and setting up for events.
Meet with Next Gen Directors of other campuses to discuss curriculum and best practices.

Be led by Gods Spirit in all matters: at home, in ministry, and in all relationships.
Follow the commands of Gods Word such as living justly and loving mercy, tithing, humility in serving others, worshiping alone and with others, etc.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
3-5 years in a leadership role with a proven track record of managing staff/volunteers effectively.
Experience in leadership discovery and development.
Ability to recruit, lead and equip leaders to lead successful teams and groups.
Stays current with relevant conferences, tools, and best practices in Church/Next Gen ministries.
Maintain spiritual, physical, and mental health.
Have great verbal communication skills.
Outgoing and friendly personality with good attitude.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and operate programs as needed.
Flexibility to be available for events and meetings.
Perform tasks as required (may include lifting up to 10 lbs. or setting up/tearing down for events)
