Location: Columbus Ohio
A pre-construction / purchasing assistant is responsible for assisting in preparing, coordination, implementation, control and completion of the pre-construction and purchasing requirements for a project while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. Also, ability to field phone calls, problem solve, and work with customers to both solve issues and schedule service technicians to resolve electrical issues.
Responsibilities:
Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
Assist in review of specifications and drawings for submittal requirements
Assist in obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
Assist in preparing installation drawings for the field personnel
Coordinate with the project schedule and timeline to meet the contract requirements on pre-construction items
Assist in quality assurance
Assisting to ensure that every project is managed to maximize customer satisfaction
Assist to assemble and process project submittals as required by the project requirements
Assist to assemble, submit, and resolve RFI’s for the projects
Assist to assemble material pull sheets and assist in procurement of required materials and services for the project.
Assist in obtaining quotes for materials and labor services for projects
Assist with purchase orders processes in writing, approving, and managing
Work with project teams to assist in pre-construction and purchasing tasks
Field service phone calls from clients and schedule service for our service electricians.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Problem-solving and leadership skills
Project planning, risk management, time management and other project management skills
Proficiency in software, especially Adobe Illustrator and Bluebeam.
Conflict resolution experience
Willingness to learn electrical construction field basics or comparable skills
Must be self-motivated and punctual
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally
Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
Driver's License (Preferred)
