Job Title: Chief Engineer
ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a Chief Engineer. The role involves overseeing maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems within a property, ensuring maximum system lifespan and reliability. The Chief Engineer must be adaptable, willing to perform various duties including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical maintenance, building inspections, and general upkeep. Responsibilities also include responding to client requests, managing work orders, and ensuring compliance with policies, expenses, and codes.

Pay Range: $69.13 - $75.00 per hour. Compensation varies based on education, experience, skills, location, and market data.

Essential Functions:
Supervise mechanical, electrical, and craft services, ensuring optimal operation and environmental conditions.
Oversee facility equipment and systems operations.
Maintain communication with Building Management regarding services.
Develop operating procedures for equipment and systems.
Aim for zero downtime through reliable system performance.
Prepare and manage operating budgets.
Implement training programs with the Engineering Branch Manager.
Establish testing schedules for critical systems.
Administer preventative maintenance systems.
Evaluate equipment and recommend improvements.
Supervise subcontracted jobs when necessary.
Implement energy conservation measures.
Ensure compliance with local laws, permits, and regulations.
Manage inventory of materials and tools.
Develop and maintain work order systems for service requests.
Allocate responsibilities and develop manpower schedules.
Set performance standards and ensure safety and quality.
Perform additional duties as needed within contractual scope.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of progressive operations experience.
Experience managing operations at hotel properties or large portfolios.
Strong knowledge of electrical, UPS, and emergency power systems.
Experience managing a team of Stationary Engineers.
Relevant state/local licenses for Stationary Engineer/HVAC and refrigerant recovery.
BOMA courses, Fire Safety, Haz-Mat, Indoor Air Quality, LEED, OSHA certifications are desirable.
Knowledge of energy conservation and formal training preferred.
Excellent communication, employee relation, coaching, and training skills.
Proficiency with MS Office and building automation systems.
