Telecommunications Network Engineer - Senior - (117) This role serves as a Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer supporting wired and wireless LAN functions within a larger team.
The role involves telecom engineering, operational support of current and new technologies, network upgrade design, implementation, support, and sustainment, as well as network management and operation support.
Key Responsibilities include: Design requirements for the enterprise network backbone, including server and user locations and traffic flows.
Design, implement, and sustain network upgrades and solutions.
Develop testing requirements and perform testing for features, applications, OS, redundancy, and capacity.
Implement and monitor fail-over solutions and support network monitoring tools.
Maintain network documentation and implement configuration management.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot networking hardware, software, and protocols.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in electrical, electronics, or systems engineering with at least 1 year of experience, or an Associate Degree with 8 years of experience, 4 of which are related to telecommunications.
IT-II security clearance or current NACLC clearance.
7 years of network operations experience; higher education or military service can substitute for 2 years.
Certifications: CWNA, IAT-II, and one from BPIPA, CCDA, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCSPA, or SCNA.
Experience: Design and management of telecommunications networks.
Independent work on complex requirements.
Analysis and design of voice, LAN/WAN data, wireless networks, and management systems.
Development of telecommunications systems from inception to maintenance.
Coordination with other professionals and development of backup plans.
Evaluation and cost estimation of WAN services and network design using carrier services.
Providing technical and administrative direction for network personnel.
