Entry-Level System Development Engineer - AWS Networking

Join the AWS Networking organization as a System Development Engineer, focusing on building high-availability systems for mission-critical networks. Work collaboratively with software, systems, and network engineering teams to innovate automated solutions that enhance the security and reliability of our services.

Your role will encompass the entire lifecycle of network management—design, build, deploy, and optimize systems connecting dedicated customer regions and their networks, ensuring robust connectivity and access control.

We are in search of motivated and skilled engineers who are passionate about tackling complex problems across software development, systems engineering, and network engineering. As part of our team, you will help automate and create new strategies for operating the Amazon AWS network, while prioritizing the experience of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain services that ensure the quality and reliability of our networks.

Develop tools and processes for data collection and analysis to streamline workloads.

Measure and evaluate success using data analysis, proactively preventing customer service impacts.

Collaborate with network engineering teams for quick and effective software rollouts.

Identify and resolve recurring platform issues, working with senior engineers for escalations.

Engage in the design and implementation of cloud-based systems tailored to our diverse customers.

Lead agile projects, driving them to successful completion while contributing to team knowledge and documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience with automating, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure.

Proficiency in programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Java, or C++.

Experience in automating development, testing, and operational processes.

Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Hands-on experience with networking and systems engineering.

Understanding of distributed systems at scale.

Experience in software deployment best practices.

A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is a plus.
