Job Summary: Barnett Southern Corporation is seeking a talented, proven Civil Site Senior Construction Estimator for our growing office located in Washington or Savannah, Georgia.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepares full-service cost estimates for site development construction projects.
Focuses on civil site clearing, earthwork, underground utilities, and drainage.
Evaluates project specific requirements by studying plans and specifications.
Details quantity take-offs.
Scope clarification and value engineering.
Attend pre-bid meetings.
Complete construction risk analysis through site visits and scope understanding.
Obtain and review quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
Write up and present budgets, reports, and project plans.
Work closely with in-house project management and operations to achieve project buy-in.
Attend internal meetings with Project Managers and staff.
Navigate and understand construction standards and specifications.

Strong focus on vendor and customer relations.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience using HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob preferred.
Experience using AGTEK Earthworks and Roadway preferred.
Experience using typical Microsoft programs i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook
Strong math skills including geometry and basic arithmetic.
Ability to navigate specifications and plans.
Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
Knowledge of latest state and local standards and specifications
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Travel can be required and is primarily local.
Education and Experience:
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, mathematics, architecture, or a similar field is encouraged but not required.
Minimum seven (7) plus years’ proven experience estimating site and utility development projects.
Experience bidding both private and public work
US work authorization
Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking.
Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Must be able to visually inspect machines.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
