Job Summary:

Evergreen Solar is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Solar Estimator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in designing and estimating residential and commercial solar and battery storage systems. You’ll work closely with our sales team, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure every proposal meets customer needs and stays within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

· Properly size solar and battery for residential and commercial projects through estimating programs such as Helioscope and Aurora

· Find energy solutions that best fit a customer’s usage needs and budget

· Contact suppliers regarding pricing and product availability

· Evaluate plan sets to determine solar/storage requirements

· Calculate all expenses involved in a project including:

· Contact subcontractors and request bids

· Develop proposals through PowerPoint and Aurora that can be delivered to potential customers

· Write and submit bids

· Work directly with the sales team to identify customers’ wants/needs

· Manage bid deadlines

Qualifications:

1–3 years of experience in solar estimating or a related construction/energy role

Strong math, analytical, and critical-thinking skills

Understanding of solar PV systems, permitting, and utility requirements

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and organization skills

High school diploma or equivalent required (degree in related field preferred)
