TRAFFIC CONTROL CORPORATION is a regional distributor and integrator of traffic management and traffic safety products and services installed and used by transportation agencies (D.O.T.’s), cities and counties throughout the Midwest. These products and services include traffic signals, traffic controllers, traffic cabinets and vehicle detection systems.
We are hiring an Estimator to develop quotes for construction projects advertised by state and local agencies and submit them to contractors for consideration. The ideal Estimator we are seeking will have strong follow-up skills as well as the ability to build strong customer relationships, to negotiate post-bid awards. Build and maintain positive customer relationships with contractors, agencies, and clients.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong customer relationships with contractors, agencies, and clients
Work with sales management and technical staff on changing focus from price proposals to value proposals when and where appropriate
Review letting schedules and provide feedback to sales department regarding unique or large potential opportunities in advance when possible
Develop bidding strategy through discussions with sales, technical and management staff to determine to increase job capture rates
Involve purchasing, production, sales, technical and management teams in opportunities as required
Schedule and participate in project review and quote follow up calls with sales and technical staff
Work with accounting department to ensure compliance with state and local tax laws, pre-qualifications, etc.
Submit monthly pipeline, quote capture, and other associated reports to management
When project size or complexity out match your skill or scope, involve other team member
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 1+ years of construction estimating experience
Advanced proficiency skills required in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience working with E.R.P. systems to generate quotes, enter orders and produce associated reports as required
Ability to develop a thorough understanding of state specifications and requirements for relevant, devices, materials, and methods
Ability to effectively communicate scope of work, cost basis and margin to your sales team and management during the bid review process
Ability to capture, archive and analyze historical results for market trends, labor, and material trends and integrate into the final bid quote
