Job Description
Performs functions that lead to the improvement of current products, or the development and launch of custom equipment. This person has good knowledge of moderately complex engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. This role reports to the Engineering Manager, but can function primarily independently, with some instruction and guidance from senior level engineers or upper management.
Responsibilities:
· Independently design moderately complex custom products
· Analyze moderate design problems to determine the root cause, and then implement corrective actions
· Possess working knowledge of associated regulatory standards, and ensure that products meet the required specifications.
· Work with Quailty Controls to carry out test procedures to verify funtionality of control systems
· Technically competant in the understanding and application of 2-3 Culligan standard product technologies.
· Interface with other departments to bring moderately complex products or changes into production
· Possess sufficient knowledge of the GBE controller to integrate with PLC’s and custom projects.
· Develop and maintain bills-of-materials
· Interacts sucessfully with customers and dealers
· Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (preferred) or similar degree.
· 3-5 years of experience in PLC and HMI hardware & software development, programming from a written specification for Allen-Bradley PLC-5, Control Logix, Compact Logix, Micro Logix systems
· Able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and P&IDs
· Able to create Instrument, valve, and Load lists with their respective electrical information.
· Able to select PLC hardware, design/layout/build PLC panels, and program and troubleshoot PLC systems
· Familiarity with industrial communications protocols including: RS232, RS485, Modbus, TCP/IP, BACnet, Profibus, and Ethernet
· 2+ years of troubleshooting PLC programs at on-site customer locations
· Commitment to maintain educational and regulatory standards.
· Up to 10% travel
Target Salary Range: $ 90,000 - $120,000 year. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
