JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Reading Assistant

Qualifications: Must meet guidelines for a Highly Qualified IA

Required: Proof of one of the following:

60 completed college credit hours, official or unofficial transcripts are accepted

Minimum score of 460 or greater on ParaPro PRAXIS score

If candidate has neither the qualification, nor the proof, they can take the ParaPro PRAXIS exam for a fee. Contact for more information.

Reports to: Building Principal

Performance Responsibilities: 1) Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-deliver standards-based literacy instruction across primary grade levels.

2) Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan effective standards-based literacy instruction across primary grade levels.

3) Engage meaningfully in Professional Learning Communities to collaborate on instructional practices, discuss data, and align instructional practices with team goals.

4) Participate in Science of Reading Professional development.

5) Provide Science of Reading-aligned reading interventions.

6) Other duties as assigned
