Concrete Superintendent

Reporting to the Operation Manager, the concrete superintendent will coordinate, motivate, and oversee foremen, subcontractors and workmen to make sure that we deliver a quality project that is completed on time, as well as read, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, and scope of work to make sure that all workmanship is completed accordingly. For consideration, you must possess a strong understanding of concrete processes and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assisting in various concrete-related tasks on commercial construction sites, ensuring quality control, purchasing, compliance to project scope and adhering to safety standards. Responsible for on-site leadership for one or more commercial construction projects.

Essential Responsibilities

Read, understand, and interpret drawings, specifications, and scope of work to make sure that all workmanship is completed accordingly.

Communicate and coordinate with the operations manager, the project manager, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, architects, client representatives, office personnel and other parties as required.

Adhere to all company standards and protocols including, but not limited to, jobsite safety management, quality control, daily reports, purchase order submission, and attendance to safety training and OAC meetings as required.

Inspect the quality of work done, making sure that it meets the project standards

Report on progress to managers

Organize and maintain equipment and tools

Monitor employees for compliance with safety policies and operating practices, and initiate action for non-compliance in consistent and fair manners.

Respond to service disruptions within area of responsibility, handle promptly and provide written and oral reports.

Manage Review of Capabilities, Accomplishments and Progress (Recap) progress for field trades people.

Maintain a progression/succession plan for all high-potential tradesmen in conjunction with the Operations Manager (OM).

Manage training for tradesmen.

Oversee multiple jobs simultaneously and communicate both with the site Foremen, the Operations Manager, the Project Manager and the Project Administrator.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. 8+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, and management.

Experience with and broad knowledge of ground improvement equipment (concrete pumps, batch plants, etc.), How to use it properly, and how to rapidly troubleshoot.

Knowledge of proper pumping and placement of commercial related concrete.

Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Rushing policies, procedures, and software programs.

Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.

Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong all-around knowledge structural foundation methods, and support of excavation (SOE) operations; Ground Improvement experience includes vibro-compaction. Support of excavation experience includes soldier pile anchors, and tiebacks.

Knowledge of Tilt Wall Construction a plus.

Understanding and speaking Spanish is a plus.
