Strategic is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Analyst who will support the implementation, monitoring, and trading of a broad, comprehensive, diverse, and fully discretionary multi-asset investment program, implemented across external active managers and internal directly traded exposures for multiple client accounts. The position will be a part of the Portfolio Management group.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor portfolio allocations relative to targets and investment guidelines and effectuating trades/rebalancing/execution as needed, including daily data quality checking and troubleshooting
Design, develop and maintain robust pipelines by integrating SQL-based queries with financial APIs to extract, transform, and load large-scale financial datasets for downstream analytics, modeling, and reporting
Evaluate and execute trades across client portfolios, asset classes and strategies, including directly traded government bonds and market exposure instruments. Security and strategy types traded include derivatives (e.g. listed futures contracts, forwards), onshore and offshore commingled investment funds (e.g. mutual funds, investment trusts, private partnerships), currency/cash & cash equivalents, U.S. government bonds/bills and exchange traded funds
Manage daily and strategic liquidity across portfolios, ensuring sufficient cash availability for redemptions, rebalancing, and investment opportunities
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal risk limits, and client-specific investment guidelines, proactively identifying and escalating relevant issues
Liaise with investment teams, operations, compliance, and client service to ensure seamless execution and alignment of portfolio objectives.
Contribute to firm wide initiatives to improve proprietary tools essential to the portfolio management process
Participate in servicing large, high profile client relationships
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required (Preferably in Quantitative Finance, Finance, Economics or another related field)
Progress toward CFA designation preferred
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in financial services preferred, preferably in asset management, investment operations, or trading
Familiarity with portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment products across asset classes
Experience with trade execution, order management systems and market operations preferred
Working understanding of financial markets, macroeconomic indicators, and regulatory frameworks
Strong understanding of relevant financial analysis and accounting techniques
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and independently manage projects and meet deadlines
Proven proficiency in utilizing spreadsheets and presentation software
