Position Title: Marketing and Events Intern

Organization: OPTIONS

Location: Hammond, LA

Hourly Rate: $10.50

Schedule: Flexible; approximately 15–20 hours per week

Organization Overview

OPTIONS is a local nonprofit dedicated to helping people with disabilities live and work in the community. We offer vocational training, community programs, transportation, and personal development opportunities to support individuals in building independence, meaningful relationships, and community involvement.

Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate and creative Marketing and Events Intern to support our outreach and engagement efforts. The intern will collaborate with the marketing and development team to promote OPTIONS’ mission, assist with planning events, and increase awareness of our impact. This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, and event planning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

Create content for social media, email newsletters, and website updates.

Design marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and event promotions.

Support email campaigns to engage donors and attract supporters.

Help manage and grow OPTIONS' social media presence.

Monitor and analyze social media engagement and recommend improvements.

Event Planning & Support

Assist with logistics, vendor coordination, and setup for events.

Design and produce event materials including signage and invitations.

Participate in on-site event support to ensure a smooth experience.

Research & Outreach

Research sponsorship and partnership opportunities.

Support outreach to volunteers, donors, and community members.

Identify new channels to expand visibility and promote OPTIONS' mission.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in Marketing, Communications, or related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Canva or Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.

Passion for nonprofit work and supporting people with disabilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
